Oral history interview with Stanislaw M. Ulam, ca. 1976.

The interview covers Ulam's career from his work at Cambridge University in the early 1930s to his work at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the 1950s. He discusses his work with John von Neumann at the Institute for Advanced Study and Los Alamos, and how it related to computing. Ulam explains how his involvement with electronic computers and computer programming began during his work, with Fermi and others, on the H-bomb in the late 1940s. The impact of computing on the field of science, and of Los Alamos on computing developments, is also discussed. Ulam concludes with remarks about von Neumann's thoughts on computers, artificial intelligence, and other matters.
